By accessing or using our website and services, you approve that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms

Eligibility

In order to use our website and services, you must be at least 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction. You must possess the legal authority to enter into these Terms as a binding agreement. You may not use the website if any laws in your country or jurisdiction prohibit you from doing so.

Commercial Terms for Services

When using our services or purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following:

  • You are responsible for reading all service details before making a commitment to purchase.

  • You enter into a legally binding contract when you subscribe to our services and complete the payment process.

  • The prices listed on our website are subject to change at any time, and we reserve the right to correct any errors in pricing.

 

Subscription Fees: Subscription fees for home maintenance services will be charged monthly, quarterly or annually as indicated on the website.

All fees exclude applicable taxes.

Return and Refund Policy

Refer to the policies associated with respective services.

Changes to Offerings

We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or alter our services without notice. This includes adjusting service features or pricing. Any changes will not affect existing contracts unless specified.

Intellectual Property

All content on the website, including images, text, graphics, logos, and software, are the intellectual property of Squad Life Inc. and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You are not permitted to copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our explicit permission.

Account Suspension or Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if you violate any part of these Terms or any applicable law. You may request to cancel your account at any time. For subscription-based services, cancellations will take effect at the end of the billing period for which payment has been made.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Squad Life Inc. harmless from any claims, liabilities, losses, or damages arising out of your use of our website or services, including but not limited to any breach of these Terms or violations of applicable law

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Squad Life Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services. We are not responsible for errors, service interruptions, or unauthorized access to personal information.

Modifications to Terms

Squad Life Inc. reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will take effect immediately upon being posted on the website. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Continued use of the website after modifications means you accept the updated Terms.

Promotional Emails and Communication

By providing your contact information, you agree to receive communications from us. The receipt of marketing and promotional communications require your consent. If you wish to opt out of communications, you can do so by contacting us at any time.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Subscription Plan Policy

This policy outlines the services, inclusions, and terms for Squad’s Regular Subscription Plan and Home Concierge Service. Both plans are designed to provide professional coordination, preventative maintenance, and proactive monitoring for your home, with additional concierge-level benefits available for those seeking complete service oversight.

Membership Terms:

-One membership per dwelling; discounts apply for additional units at the same address.

-Subscriptions are month-to-month.

-Squad operates on a predetermined, pre-curated seasonal service schedule, providing four seasonal service visits per year for maintenance and monitoring activities.

1. Services Included in All Subscription Plans

Our subscription plans cover the coordination, scheduling, and oversight of home maintenance and servicing for the items and systems listed below. Specialist work performed by third-party trades is billed separately unless otherwise specified in your agreement.

A. HVAC Equipment Preventative and Regular Servicing

The following are included in both plans:
    •    Furnace (furnace filters are provided)
    •    Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV)
    •    Air Conditioner
    •    Hot Water Tank
    •    Instant Hot Water Heater
    •    Humidifier
    •    Water Softener

Note: Certain systems, such as boilers, may require more extensive servicing. Squad will coordinate these services with vetted, trusted trades, subject to our standard 15% coordination and management fee and the cost of the service.

B. Structural Monitoring
    •    Visual inspections of foundation, drywall, and other structural components (e.g., telepost tension).
    •    Monitoring and documenting the size and nature of cracks or changes.
    •    Coordination of repairs or engineering assessments as needed.

Disclaimer: Squad is not a structural engineering firm and cannot warrant that a property is structurally sound.

C. Appliance Maintenance (Cleaning & Basic Checks Only)
    •    Fridge condenser coil cleaning
    •    Garburator cleaning
    •    Dishwasher interior cleaning
    •    Dryer vent cleaning
    •    Washing machine trap cleaning
    •    Range hood filter cleaning
    •    Testing of gas range igniters

D. Plumbing & Electrical Monitoring

Plumbing:
    •    Tightening of fixtures
    •    Monitoring water flow and drainage
    •    Leak checks
    •    Reapplication of sealant as needed

 

Electrical:
    •    Monitoring for visible concerns (e.g., damaged outlets, exposed wiring)
    •    Coordination of licensed electricians as required, subject to coordination/management fee

E. Leak, Moisture & Pest Monitoring
    •    Regular inspections for signs of water intrusion, moisture damage, or pest activity
    •    Coordination of mitigation services as needed, subject to coordination/management fee

F. Garage & Attic
    •    Lubrication of garage door hinges and mechanisms
    •    Monitoring garage door function and safety features
    •    Attic inspections for leaks, insulation levels, and distribution

G. Sealants
    •    Scheduled reapplication of sealants in kitchens, bathrooms, and around accessible exterior penetrations

H. Exterior Monitoring (Ground-Level)
    •    Roof condition (visual)
    •    Fence condition
    •    Lot grading
    •    Downspout location and function
    •    Siding and building envelope condition

I. Trade Coordination Fee

All services coordinated with third-party trades external to Squad’s in-house services are subject to a 15% coordination and management fee in addition to the cost of the service. Any additional services that incur extra fees will be subject to homeowner approval prior to scheduling. No additional fees will be incurred without notification and consent, except in emergency situations where immediate action is required to prevent further damage or harm.

J. Additional Services Requests

Homeowners may request additional services at any time through their client portal or by contacting us directly. We will make every effort to coordinate these requests as soon as possible.

K. Emergency Situations

In the event of an emergency, homeowners acknowledge and authorize Squad to take any necessary precautions to prevent further damage to property, harm to persons, or other risks. Any additional costs incurred by Squad in managing the emergency will be billed back to the homeowner.

If homeowners are aware of an actual emergency situation, they should first contact the appropriate local emergency providers before contacting Squad. This includes calling 911 if necessary, or contacting local police, fire, ambulance, gas or electrical service providers, or the City of Calgary for true emergencies. If a homeowner is not home and Squad is servicing the property when an emergency occurs, we will contact the appropriate emergency providers on their behalf.

L. Home Check-In Services
    •    The Regular Subscription Plan includes access to discounted home check-in services, billed at a reduced rate compared to the regular rate.
    •    Check-ins may be requested as needed, subject to scheduling availability.

2. Home Concierge Service – Additional Inclusions

The Home Concierge Service includes all Regular Subscription Plan services, plus the following enhanced benefits:

A. Home Services Management
    •    Coordination and oversight of:
    •    Regular home cleaning services
    •    Snow removal services
    •    Landscaping services
    •    Flexible provider options: Squad can source vetted, trusted providers, or you may use your preferred vendors. We manage scheduling, timing of services, and payments on your behalf.

B. Annual Home Check-In Package
    •    One week (seven consecutive days) of once-daily home check-in services per year, as scheduled.
    •    Check-ins cannot be rolled over to subsequent years.
    •    Additional days are available at the member home check-in rate (discounted from the regular rate).

C. Complex Renovation Support
    •    If a renovation or project is deemed too complex for direct management by Squad, we will endeavor to source a qualified general contractor to oversee the project, external to Squad, at the discretion and approval of the homeowner.

3. General Notes
    •    All work is performed or coordinated using vetted, insured, and trusted professionals.
    •    Squad acts as the single point of contact for all included services.
    •    The cost of specialist work, materials, or replacement parts is billed separately unless otherwise specified.
    •    Squad does not provide warranties on third-party work but ensures it is performed by qualified trades.


Pricing:
-With the exception of Founding Member rates, rates are subject to change, with prior notice to members.
-Additional charges apply for services outside the plan scope.

Plan Cancellation:
-Cancel anytime with 7 days’ notice before billing.

Appointments:
-Appointments can be rescheduled with 48 hours’ notice. Missed appointments may be forfeited without a refund.

Limitations:
-Services cover only tasks in the agreement and exclude exterior maintenance beyond 10,000 sq. ft., unless included in home service monitoring contracts under the Home Concierge program.

No Warranties:
-Squad Life doesn’t warrant vendor work, home safety, or system performance after service. While thorough and reliable, our services don’t guarantee flawless operation.

Our Commitment:
-We provide top-tier preventative care, use vetted contractors, and prioritize transparent communication.

Refunds:
-Refunds are not provided under this policy.

Policy Validity and Updates:
-The policy is effective August 11, 2025 and may be updated without prior notice. Updates are effective upon posting to our website or member notification.
